Emotional and psychological trauma is the result of extraordinarily stressful events that shatter your sense of security, making you feel helpless. It includes adverse childhood experiences such as witnessing parents fight or go through a divorce, having a parent with a mental illness or substance abuse problem, or suffering from sexual, physical or emotional abuse.

 

When our mind is mature enough, it has the ability to process emotional trauma, leaving it safely in the past, but when we experience traumatic events in childhood, we are often unable to do this.

But instead of following their natural course, the hormones are trapped in a trauma state within the mind and body.

What is Emotional Mind Integration?

As the name suggests, Emotional Mind Integration (EMI) brings emotions and mindset into harmony with one another. Founded by counsellor and hypnotherapist Yildiz Sethi, EMI is described as neuro-trance-psychotherapy.

EMI uses a state of light trance to bypass the critical thinking mind. You are then able to access neural pathways to locate and resolve a distressed emotional mind state caused by emotional trauma. 

 

Throughout the whole process the therapist maintains contact with you through verbal feedback to check where you are in the process and guide you to the next step of the healing pathway. 

During this unique self-healing journey you resolve and release the emotional trigger, creating inner balance between your mind and emotion states, allowing you to choose a different reaction to a similar situation in the future. 

In EMI sessions, there is no need to relive the experience that created your deep-seated emotional triggers. You might not even consciously recall what happened, or the triggers may be inherited through generational trauma. What matters is that we access the triggers themselves.

I went to see Natalia to try to get rid off my cockroaches phobia. After a single session with her, I am now able to go out at night during summer time (yes before that it was a real struggle), I am able to walk away quietly when I see one (before I would scream and stay frozen or run), I can stay at friends’ place when they have their windows open (before I would have done everything I could to leave early).
