How does hypnotherapy for weight loss work?

Now, when you feel stressed, unhappy, vulnerable or bored, you habitually focus on food. Relationship or work problems are common triggers. The result could be cravings, yoyo dieting, comfort or stress eating, leading to an unhealthy weight and impacting your self-worth.

Research in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis has shown that in relation to weight loss, hypnotherapy works surprisingly well. After your first 90 min session, each consecutive session is 60 mins long. If the budget is a problem, you can always opt for a pay as you go option.

How many sessions will you need?

Whether you want to get fitter, eat healthier or drop a dress size or two, my hypnosis for weight loss methods combined with mindset coaching can help you resolve any unconscious resistance that’s been sabotaging your efforts so far.


Based on our initial session, I will devise a bespoke hypnotherapy plan that will guide you gently towards your goal. Most issues can be resolved on average in three to seven sessions, although some people require extra sessions if there are additional issues involved. This will become clear once the treatment commences.

If you are also following a food plan and exercise, at least six hypnosis sessions are recommended. The first three sessions are a few days apart, and the last three are usually weekly.


My recommendation is to always combine hypnotherapy with your preferred food plan. If you are struggling to find one that appeals to you, I would be happy to recommend a nutritionist who could help you find the best diet for you.
